The Halloween Party in 1977 moved to Barbara Drive with Allan and Mays. Movie characters were popular that year (Star Wars, Friday 13th, Rocky). This was our first year for “doubles:” Jan Miltenberger and Carol Presley paid homage to Dolly Parton and Barb and Mays both showed up as nuns. This was the source of some name-calling and finger-pointing in that costumes were Top Secret until the party. Mays and Barb each believed the other guilty of idea-theft. It became apparent that more time and thought was going into costumes and having the “best” costume started to become important.
