- 1966 – Freshman year at SEMO. Mays and Bob Fox room together at Myers Hall
- 1967 – Mullen goes to Illinois to work in cannery with Jim Blankenship. Doesn’t return
- 1967 – Finian’s Rainbow – Kennett Little Theater production (July)
- 1967 – Sophomore year at SEMO. Mays living off-campus with Terry Hunter
- 1968 – The Basement Summer
- 1968 – Junior Year at SEMO. Mays lives with Kackley and Smith on Flint Hill Road
- 1969 – Mullen leaves for Viet Nam (April)
- 1969 – Mays works at GM plant in St. Louis (early June)
- 1969 – Tulsa Summer – Mays follows Joann to Tulsa. Joe, John and Bobby Fox come later
- 1969 – First Halloween Party (Cape)
- 1970 – KHS Class of 1966 graduates from SEMO
- 1970 – Mays at UMKC Law (Sept-Dec). Draft lottery numbers frozen at 195 (Mays: 213)
- 1971 – Mays takes test for US Postal Inspection Service (March)
- 1971 – U. S. Postal Inspector school in DC (May-July). John Robison and Dennis Kackley there at same time with bank examiner training and United States Army, respectively.
- 1971 – Mays moves to Pendleton, Oregon for Inspection Service posting (September)
- 1971 – Mays gives RP Super 8 camera for Christmas
- 1972 – Mays quits Inspection Service. Cross-country trip with Charlie (May)
- 1972 – Mays staying at E. Moreland house in Memphis (attic). Applies for job with police (June)
- 1972 – Mays moves back to Kennett, working nights at KBOA (July)
